Conference on Comparative Enforcement of Corporate and Securities Laws in Asia

This 1.5-day Conference, jointly organised by Singapore Management University’s Centre for Cross Border Commercial Law in Asia and the Singapore Academy of Law, brings together leading academics, regulators and practitioners from the field of enforcement of corporate and securities law in Asian economies. The conference will examine a whole spectrum of topics relating to the regulation of the securities markets in Asian jurisdictions where concentrated shareholding is quite common even in publicly listed companies. The panel sessions will range from regulating securities offerings (including initial public offerings), market misconduct and continuous disclosure obligations to mergers and acquisitions of publicly listed companies. In addition to public enforcement, the sessions will cover, from the Asian perspectives, shareholders’ derivative actions and insolvency litigation, the role of directors as gatekeepers and corporate governance, and the challenges in dealing with related party transactions or transactions with controlling shareholders.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This conference will be very useful to lawyers, academics, regulators, in-house counsel, investment bankers, finance professionals, compliance officers and company secretaries.
